Florence M. Welburn

August 19, 1932 — July 29, 2014

Florence Welburn, 81, of Lawton, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at White Oaks in Lawton. She was born August 19, 1932 in Porter Township, the daughter of Frederick and Maxine (Abbott) Beach. On June 26, 1949 in Buchanan, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Welburn who preceded her in death in 1999. Together they owned and operated Welburn Excavating and were co-owners of Pioneer Point Campground with their son. Florence was a devoted wife and mother, loved taking care of her family and was an excellent cook. She kept busy working in the grapes around Lawton and she enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Surviving are three sons, Nick (Karen) Welburn, Gary Welburn and Fred (Cindy) Welburn all of Lawton; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Fred (Donna) Beach of Lawton, Tom (Donna) Beach of Florida and Patty (Windle) Terry of Lawton; many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, step-father, Walter Bauer, husband, brother, Francis Beach and daughter-in-law, Veronica Welburn.
Family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Rev. Ron Packer officiating. Interment will take place at Chamberlin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of choice.
