Evelyn Lucille (Denzel) Overacker

Evelyn Lucille Overacker, 93, of Paw Paw, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Maple Lake Assisted Living in Paw Paw.

She was born March 26, 1928 in Cadillac, Michigan, the daughter of Carl  Denzel and Esther (Johnson) Denzel.

Evelyn was a 1946 graduate of Manton High School. She married her husband Charles "Chuck" Overacker on July 2, 1950 at the Almena United Methodist Church.  Evelyn worked along side Chuck, helping him with their business. She was a very active, longtime member of the Almena United Methodist Church. Evelyn was the matriarch of the family, making sure things were always planned and coordinated. She enjoyed baking cookies, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Tony) Thompson, her son, Steven (Lisa) Overacker; four grandchildren, Sarah (Robert) Driesenga, Jill (Lewis) Butler, Matthew Thompson and Kevin (Michelle) Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Reid, Ryker and Caleb; brother, William (Joann) Denzel and sister in law, Barbara Denzel.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Overacker on August 13, 2018 and her brother, Earl Denzel.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, 2021, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held at Almena United Methodist Church, 27503 Almena Road, Paw Paw, on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Len Schoenherr officiating. Interment will follow at Almena Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Almena United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
