Emma Dean (Griffie) Rhoderick

Emma Dean Rhoderick, 83, of Kalamazoo, passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at Rose Arbor.

She was born August 10, 1936 in Saint Charles, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Leonard Griffie and Elsie (Pogue) Griffie.

Emma enjoyed playing golf and going fishing, she spent many years wintering in Florida. Most recently she enjoyed helping the homeless by knitting items for people.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Rhoderick in 2017.

She is survived by her two sons, Alan (Cathy Jo) Rhoderick and Steve (Sue) Rhoderick; seven grandchildren, Mike Jr., (Lindsay) Rhoderick, Stephanie (Mike) Huizing, Danny Rhoderick, Darcey Rhoderick, Kris (Kellie) Rhoderick, Alan Jr., (Ashley) Rhoderick and Jamie (Raegan) Rhoderick; 12 great grandchildren, along with five sisters, June, Carolyn, Leona, Alice and Rita.

Emma was preceded in death by her son, Mike Rhoderick and her sisters, Bonnie and Linda.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Almena United Methodist Church where funeral services will commence at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Len Schoenherr officiating. Masks will be required. Burial will follow at Almena Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Almena United Methodist Church.
