Elmer Jackson Jr., 95 Years, of Decatur, MI, died on Sunday, November 22, 2020, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born on June 7, 1925 in Decatur, MI, the son of Elmer and Amy (Palmer) Jackson.
Elmer graduated from Decatur High School in 1943. He served faithfully in the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon returning home he earned his Associates Degree from Michigan State University. In 1953, Elmer purchased Decatur Plumbing and Heating and has been helping people in his community for nearly 70 years. He has been a presence working in and helping the company up until just a few days before he passed. He and Norma started a tree farm on acreage left by his mother, that he also enjoyed working on. Among other things, Elmer enjoyed mowing the lawn, flying around Southwest MI in his early years, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his son, Les (Laura) Jackson; daughter, Penny (Craig) Cronk, son, Erin (Margaret) Jackson, son, Toban (Charlene)Jackson, son, Dana Jackson, grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Miller, Christina (Marty) Beck, Adam (Julie) Jackson, Mariah (Joe Kuhens) Jackson, and Mackenzie (Kody) Hillring; great-grandchildren, Riley, Jesse, Alana, Brayden, and Chase; brothers, Bob Jackson and John (Sarah) Jackson. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norma A. Jackson.
