Elmer John Huberty, age 90, of Bloomingdale passed away April 28, 2017. He was born in Kalamazoo on October 25, 1926 to the late John and Helen (Wyruchowski) Huberty. Elmer is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Richard McBride) Huberty of Grand Junction as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naleta, and his brother, Wayne “Bud” Huberty. Elmer served his country in the Navy on a destroyer during the Pacific Theater of World War II. Following his service in the Navy, Elmer went to college on the GI Bill earning his degree as an Electrical Engineer. He started his career in electrical design and patented his design. He later went to work in the paper mills as project manager where he would oversee installation of new equipment. Following retirement, Elmer went on to enjoy his main hobby of blueberry farming. In addition to blueberry farming he enjoyed working on his tractor. There will be no public services for Elmer. Burial of his cremains will take place at Arlington Hill Cemetery in Bangor.
