Elizabeth Louise Melson, 73, of Paw Paw, passed away Sunday November 21, 2021 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.
Elizabeth was the matriarch of the family. She would always have a good time and enjoyed life. She was skilled in the kitchen and loved to cook and bake. While raising her daughters, she always made sure they were protected and taken care of. She made many outfits for her children as she enjoyed sewing. Elizabeth also enjoyed crocheting blankets and most of all playing Bingo. In earlier years, she enjoyed sports and playing softball.
Elizabeth was born January 25, 1948, in Moulton, Alabama, the daughter of James Kirby and Myrtle (Grissom) Kirby.
On September 16, 1972, in Decatur, Michigan, she married Larry Melson who survives.
She is also survived by her three daughters, Teri (Randy) Phelps, Tina (Randy) Good and Shannon Stearns; nine grandchildren, Patrick (Anna) Melson, Matthew (Anna) Phelps, Brooke Phelps, Coty Phelps, Kylie (Jacob) Bailey, Ryan Leedy, RJ Stearns, Kya Kimble and Austin Kimble; 14 great-grandchildren and one sister, Carol (Pat) Dominiak.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob Kimble, brothers, Roger, David and James Kirby and one sister, Linda Spiker.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 24, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw where a life celebration will commence at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw.
