Eleanor Maxine Pardike passed away on August 4, 2016 at White Oaks in Lawton, Michigan. The daughter of Verdzel and Vena (Hawkins) Cassada, Eleanor was born in Bloomingdale Township, Michigan on August 1, 1924. Eleanor was a graduate of Paw Paw High School and was united in Marriage to Marlow Pardike on June 8, 1947 in the first Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw. Together they started Pardike Radio & TV and later cofounded Paw Paw Music &Appliance. Eleanor was one of the oldest members of the First Presbyterian Church. Eleanor is remembered for her love and dedication to her family, her musical ability playing piano, and her keen attention to detail. Her beautiful flowers surrounding the home flourished under her care and were enjoyed by family and neighbors. Eleanor and her late husband Marlow believed that education was extremely important. They provided the cost of college tuition to their children and grand children; all of whom went on to attain at least a Bachelor's degree. They were very proud of this family accomplishment. Surviving are sons Gary (Jonette) Pardike and Gregory (Bonnie) Pardike of Paw Paw. Surviving grandchildren include Laura Pardike of South Haven, Marla (Chris) Salmon of Kentwood, Eileen Hibma of Kalamazoo, Mark Pardike of Paw Paw, and Stephanie (James) Johnson of Seattle, WA; and three great grandchildren. Surviving also is a cousin and lifelong friend, Loretta Brunner; and brother R.C. Cassada, both of Paw Paw. Eleanor was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Marlow Pardike; and by a sister, Betty Cassada. A private family graveside service will be held at Prospect Cemetery at a future date. Memorials may be sent to Grace Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church.
