Ed passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 12, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born 1922 in Mattawan the son of the late John and Katherine (Kratofil) Kucinich. He graduated from Mattawan High School in 1940 and operated a dairy and grape farm until his retirement in 1992. Ed was a member of St. John Bosco Church, Mattawan, Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #3798, Paw Paw, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly #0522, Paw Paw. Ed was united in marriage to Florence Fialkowski for 60 years, who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Stephen Kucinich of Kalamazoo, Michael (Leslie) Kucinich of Kalamazoo, Jacquelyn (Donald) Davis of Portage, and John (Maureen) Kucinich of Herndon, VA; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Brian (Carmen), Thomas, Rebecca (Nick), Andrew and Matthew (Carleigh); 4 great grandchildren, Alexander, Gabriel, Bryson, and Liam; sister, Katherine (William) Braybrooks of Kalamazoo, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Tony, Vincent "Bill" and Jacob "Jack" Kucinich. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011, 11a.m. at St. John Bosco Church in Mattawan.
