Edith passed away peacefully in the evening on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Alamo Nursing Home in Kalamazoo, with her Daughter and close friend by her side. Edith was a lifelong resident of Devereaux, MI. Edith was born September 9, 1928 in Clarksville, TN, the Daughter of the late Elmer and Bessie Patterson. Edith enjoyed spending time with her late husband (Douglas), and spending the Winters in Florida with their children and grandchildren. Edith was a home maker and enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and canning from their family garden. She was a home maker and enjoyed baking and sharing her pies and cakes with the neighbors. Her grandchildren loved her canned green beans, fresh strawberries from her garden, peanut butter cookies, cheesecake and pancakes. On October 25, 1946 in Parma, MI Edith and Douglas were united in marriage, together for 66 years until Doug's passing in 2012. Surviving are a Daughter Cathy (Terry) Fulk; Son Robert (Darla) Tarr; Four Grandchildren, Craig (Carrie) Tarr, Christopher (Billy) and Jason (Sara) Corser, Tami (Jason) Pechfelder and Brother and Sister-in-law Dudley (Emily) Allen; eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband Doug, her Son Donald and Infant Twins, Jean and Jane. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alamo Nursing home in Edith's name.
