Jim passed away on August 12, 2011 in Aurora, IL. He was born on January 8, 1919 in Crystal Falls, Michigan, the son of the late John and Agnes Collins. Jim served in the United States Army in World War II and was a former prisoner of war. He was member of the Paw Paw American Legion McGowan Johnson post #68 and the Paw Paw VFW post 2532. On August 25, 1945, Jim married Lillian Morley who preceded him in death in 1974. On September 18, 1977, Jim married Gertrude Zachman who preceded him in death in 2009. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Borbas; step son Brian (Joan) Hemeli and step daughter Nancy (William) Keegan; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 20 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Bloomingdale, followed by military honors by the Paw Paw American Legion McGowan Johnson post #68.
