Douglas passed away peacefully in the early morning on Tuesday, October 09, 2012 at the Alamo Nursing Home in Kalamazoo. Doug was born February 3, 1924 in Parma, MI, the son of the late Walter and Margaret (Sussex) Tarr. After graduation Doug joined the United States Army, serving during WWII. He was a lifelong resident of Devereaux, MI and retired after 31 years from Albion Industries. He loved spending time with his wife, working in the yard and the time they spent with their grandkids while wintering in Florida. On October 25, 1946 in Parma, MI Doug was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Edith (Patterson) Tarr who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Cathy (Terry) Fulk; son, Robert (Darla) Tarr; grandchildren, Craig (Carrie) Tarr, Chris Corser, Jason (Sara) Corser and Tami (Jason) Pechfelder; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Emily (Dudley) Allen. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Tarr and infant twins, Jean and Jane. Per his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association in Doug's name.
