Dorothy Jean Ketchum, 91, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2019 in Plainwell, MI. She was born on February 20, 1928, in Cadillac, MI, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Dunn) Foster.
Dorothy was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Paw Paw for many years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping. Dorothy adored helping people, she had such a generous heart. Her role of "Care Taker" began first as a candy striper, volunteering in the hospitals. She was a great cook and she would make food for her neighbors, no occasion necessary; She was the meals on wheels of Gobles. Those neighbors became friends and they loved to get together and play cards. Dorothy also loved nature. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables.
Surviving are her Sons, Dennis (Deb) Ketchum, Darryl Ketchum, and Kevin (Sue) Ketchum; Seven Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren and Two more on the way; Brothers, Don Foster, Jim Foster, and Ronnie Foster as well as her Sister, Donna (Jim) Weir, and so many friends and other close family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Robert Ketchum, Son, David Ketchum, Brothers, Tom Foster and Paul Foster, Sisters, Betty Leet, Lucille Roten, Pat Jeffrey, and Marilyn Foster.
A rosary service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 209 S. Brown Street, on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a visitation beginning around 11:30 and a memorial mass to start at 12 Noon with Fr. Joseph Xavier officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
