Passed away Saturday evening, June 23, 2012 after a very brief illness at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Dorothy was born April 19, 1927 in Blaxhall, England the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Ling) French. During World War II she served with the Women's Home Guard making sure all the windows and homes were blacked out during the night. She dearly loved her family and devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. On March 18, 1950 in Blaxhall, England she was united in marriage to William E. Double who preceded her in death on July 24, 2011. Although we will miss her terribly, our dear mother had looked for the day when she would be reunited with her beloved husband, our father and grandfather, Bill who passed away just 11 months ago. We are rejoicing with her as she walks with dad today. Surviving are 3 children, son: Dave (Jo) Double of Martin, MI; daughter: Denise M. (Ron) Blakely of Paw Paw, MI and Diane (Richard) Ling of England; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren. An informal memorial open house will be held at Model Farm Stables, where Dorothy resided, on Sunday, July 1st, 2012, 1p.m. to 3 p.m. The ashes of Bill and Dorothy will be reunited with many family members in their hometown of Blaxhall, England. Memorials can be made to Animals Best Friend, in which Dorothy was a long time member, having a great love of animals, especially cats. Arrangements by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
