Dick passed away Wednesday morning, May 8, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. He was born March 17, 1927 in Baroda, MI son of the late Paul and Catherine (Livengood) Rennhack. Graduated from Bridgman High, Class of 1945. Dick married Lucille Reck of Bridgman on May 6, 1950. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy 1945 to 1946 as a Hospital Corpman 3rd Class then later as a Pharmacist Mate 3rd Class. Dick also was on the Selective Service Board during the Vietnam War. Dick and his family moved to Paw Paw in 1968 and opened and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store until his retirement in 1991. Dick enjoyed the outdoors and frequently traveled up north to enjoy all types of outdoor recreation. Dick shared his passion for hunting bear and deer with his sons and friends. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baroda from 1929 to 1967 being confirmed on April 6, 1941. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Paw Paw where he was an active member and former Elder. Preceded in death by parents and brothers Roy, Don, and Jerry Rennhack. Dick is survived by his wife Lucille of 63 years; brother, Gene (Lorraine) Rennhack of Coloma, MI; daughter, Robin Nitz, and son Craig Rennhack both of Paw Paw, MI; son Kurt (Kathleen Silas) Rennhack of Interlochen, MI; six grandchildren including Rebecca (Jeff) Zuhlke of Hartland, WI, Eric (Michelle) Nitz of Portage, MI, Rene' (Ryan) Yarbrough of Sandford, MI, Richard (Emily) Rennhack of Paw Paw, MI, Clare and Kevin Rennhack of Interlochen, MI; three great-grandchildren, Austin Hoy of Interlochen, MI Lily Yarbrough of Sanford, MI, and Harper Rennhack of Paw Paw, MI; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, MI. The funeral will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. with a light luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church School and to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
