Diane Lucille Densmore, Foster, Mortimore age 70, passed away at home, peacefully with her family at her side Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Diane was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on April 3, 1947 the daughter of Roy and Velma (Wolf) Densmore. She was united in marriage to Douglas Foster on March 6, 1964; he preceded her in death on November 17, 1977. Diane later went on to marry Mervin Mortimore Sr. on July 28, 1978 in Mattawan, MI; with whom she spent the next 40 years with.
The strength, the motivator, the problem solver; Diane was definitely the leader of her pack, making sure all the needs of her family were met, sadly before her own. From sun up to sun down, Diane worked tirelessly to keep her surroundings immaculate, inside and out. When visiting, there would be hell to pay if you didn’t take your boots off or left spots in her sink. She was just as particular outside; never would you find a week in her flower bed or garden.
Diane was a creative soul; there wasn’t a craft she couldn’t tackle. Many of which she would gift to her children and grandchildren. Her poetry was astounding, even receiving awards. She enjoyed her time in the evening to catch a good horror or drama flick, a big fan of The Walking Dead she was.
While spending the winter months in Florida, Diane partook in several clubhouse activities with joy, especially painting. She had a natural talent for drawing and she was one hell of a dancer too. Diane was and always will be a rare soul, that we all loved and will miss so much.
Diane is survived by her husband, Mervin, children; Lori Mortimore, Jodi Foster, Kimberly McPherson, Michael Mortimore, Jesse Mortimore and Kevin Parrish, 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister; Betty Moxley. Diane was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Douglas; sons; Jeffery Foster, Mervin Mortimore Jr. and Stephen Mortimore, sisters; Onley Cole and Connie Steele.
