Dennis Paul “Denny” Austin, 74, of Gobles, passed away in his home on January 12, 2020, surrounded by family.
Denny was born December 28, 1945 to Delbert and Mildred (Holst) Austin of Paw Paw. He graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1963. After graduation, he joined the US Army signal corps, and was stationed in Germany.

Denny returned to the States and began working for Michigan Bell telephone installing and repairing phone lines. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with friends and family. After retiring, Denny and his longtime girlfriend Susan Schau traveled all over the country delivering trailers and spent many winter months in Florida with friends.

Denny is survived by his son, Stacey Austin of Lawton and wife Julie; his daughter Shanna Cummings of Van Horn, Texas, and her husband David; grandsons Alexander and Stacey II and granddaughter Macy; his sister Mary Ann Weaver of Paw Paw and her husband Terry, as well as many nephews and nieces. He was also much beloved by Sue’s granddaughter Lauren Johnson of Kalamazoo.

He is preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Mildred Austin, his brother Tim Austin of Kendall, and his girlfriend Sue Schau.

Friends & family will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow in Austin Cemetery, Paw Paw, MI.

In lieu of flowers, Denny’s family requests donation to either the American Cancer Society or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
