Dennis passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness on Friday, August 24, 2012. Dennis was born March 25, 1955 in Kirkland, Washington, the son of the late Harold W. and Dorothy E. (Rourke) Hammond. Dennis was a huge football fan with a particular love for the Lions and U of M. He enjoyed watching all sporting events and has built an amazing collection of football cards. His other passion was collecting eagle statues and figurines. On April 24, 1981 in Paw Paw, MI Dennis was united in marriage to his loving wife, Deborah (Scott) Hammond, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Steven (Rachel) Hammond, Dennis (Audrey Tison) Hammond II, Amber (Tim) Hammond; grandchildren, Austin Michael, Connor Micheal-Scott, Dillan Reese, Lorna B and Kenndric Eli; siblings, David (Rhonda) Hammond, Vicki (John) Hudson, Rick (Linda) Hammond and Tim (Joan) Hammond; sister-in-law, Theresa Hammond; mother and father in-law, Robert and Violet Scott; brother-in-law, Robert (Teri) Scott; sister-in-law, Barb (Dan) Olsen; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Harold Hammond. Family will receive friends on Monday (8/27) from 2-4 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m., John Hudson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan or the National Kidney Foundation.
