David Roy Williams

August 31, 1951 — March 24, 2017

David Roy Williams, 65, of Paw Paw, passed away on March 24, 2017 at his home in Paw Paw surrounded by his wife and children. David was born in St. Louis, MO, to Roy and Betty Williams on August 31, 1951. He went to high school at Marine City High School. David spent much of his career as a Maintenance Repair Worker and Engineer at Palisades Nuclear Plant.  He is remembered as always having a smile on his face and being a patient teacher to anyone who needed help. While working full-time, he earned his Masters in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 2005. David was a passionate family man who dedicated his life to his wife and eight children.  He enjoyed watching his children play sports, band, and sing in choir.  His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving when the whole family would get together. David enjoyed relaxing on his sailboat and exploring the Great Lakes.  He especially loved to share his love for sailing with family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Betty Williams, brother, Denny Williams, and son, Matthew Williams. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Williams, children, Elizabeth (Michael) Shafer, Louis (Janet) Williams, David (Melissa) Williams, Kathryn Williams, Sr. Veronica Marie, Benjamin (Anja) Williams and John Paul Williams, eleven grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Diane (Don) Fitzgerald, Peggy (Rick) Kane, Sandy Williams and Richard (Karen) Williams.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, from 3-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow on Wednesday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Mary School. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, 4597 Warren Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
