Darlene Kay McKenzie

Darlene Kay McKenzie, 74, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born September 21, 1945 in Howell, MI, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Leona McKenzie.

Darlene graduated from Paw Paw High School with the class of 1963 and from Ferris State University with her Associates Degree as a dental hygienist. After working as a hygienist for a few years she went to work for American National Bank and retired from 5/3 Bank in 2008.

Darlene enjoyed traveling and spending much time at the family cottage at Eagle Lake where she loved swimming, skiing, scuba diving, and cookouts over the years with family. She was involved in her classes very successful 50th reunion that renewed old friendships for so many in her class.

In her later years, she spent much of her time with Marley, her silver lab, walking through her neighborhood and making new friends who had a common interest with their pets.

Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law Tom and Nancy McKenzie, her nephews Brad (Mar), and Randy (Vanessa), grandnieces Jazmyn and Zoie, and grandnephew Joe G. and the newest member of the family and love of them all, five month-old Alex, plus a host of other loving family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and interment will follow in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw, Michigan in the spring. Contributions may be made to the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. To sign the online guest book, go to www.adamspawpaw.com.
