Dana Evan Jackson, 59, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday March 31, 2021 at his home.

He was born March 13, 1962 in Paw Paw, the son of  the late Elmer Jackson Jr.and Norma (Wandrei) Jackson.

Dana graduated from Decatur High School in 1980, he then attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College and studied at Western Michigan University with Leonard Meretta. He was active in playing the trumpet for veterans organizations as well as at Fort Custer. He was also proficient at playing the piano and was active with the Kalamazoo Concert Band for many years. Dana was a member of the Webster Memorial Library where he previously served on the board, a former member of the Decatur Lions Club, the Decatur Hamilton Quick Response Team and the Decatur Hamilton Fire Department. Dana was employed with the family business, Decatur Plumbing and Heating. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed being around people.

He is survived by his three brothers, Leslie "Les" Elmer (Laura) Jackson, Erin (Maggie) Jackson and Toban (Charlene) Jackson; his sister, Penny (Craig) Cronk; along with many nieces and nephews and longtime family friend, Helyn Hillyer.

Cremation will take place. Dana will be laid to rest at Lakeside Cemetery in Decatur at a later date.
