Cyndi lost her courageous 2 A½ year battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, in Kalamazoo, with her loving family and close friends by her side. Cyndi was born Jan. 3, 1964 in Paw Paw, the daughter of Leon and Connie (Olson) Puzevic. She graduated from Mattawan High School in 1982 and then from the American Beauty College, working as a hair stylist in the Kalamazoo area before pursuing her teaching degree at Western Michigan University. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Elementary Education and went on to complete her Master's Degree in Reading from WMU. She taught in the Paw Paw School system for 19 years, and the past six years as the Director of the Title 1 Program and Reading Specialist. Her love for children and education will always live on within her students as Cyndi always went the extra mile to provide for her students. Cyndi was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, John and Vera Puzevich, and Frederick and Elizabeth Olson. Surviving are her parents, Leon and Connie Puzevic; two brothers, Michael (Lori) Puzevic, and Andrew (Lourdes) Puzevic all of Mattawan; six nephews and nieces, Jarred, Dominic, Derek, Samuel, Kathryn, and Gabriela, who were the love of her life; aunts and uncles, Al and Judy Olson, of Mattawan, Elaine and Doug Allman of Kingsley, MI and Rose Grdich of Shrewsbury, MA; many loving cousins. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends Saturday, August 25th 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Paw Paw High School Performing Arts Center where a Celebration of Cyndi's Life will be held at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made to the Paw Paw Public Schools Reading Program, West Michigan Cancer Center, or Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home Paw Paw.
