Conley Van Tol, 78, of Kalamazoo, entered his heavenly home surrounded by family, on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
He was born September 27, 1946, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Cornelius Van Tol and Annette (Mulder) Van Tol.
Con served in the Army during the Vietnam era. For 43 years, Con was a proud local small business owner in Paw Paw, where he ran Van Buren Motor Supply. He had a big heart and was very generous with all. He always made time for his family and grandchildren. There was never a time that he missed watching the grandkids at their sporting events. Faith played a significant role in Con's life as he was very active in his church. He served his church home and family faithfully for many decades. Model trains, singing and watching sports of any kind, were all things Con enjoyed in his free time. He loved the water and the sound of waves, especially along the shores of Lake Michigan. For many years he enjoyed singing with the Mall City Barbershop Chorus. He was never late to anything and had an amazing memory for fine details. He could be described as a man with a signature look of his own.
Con is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dollie (Tozer) Van Tol, three daughters, Debrah (Brad) DeBoer, Joy (Michael) Kakabeeke and Tami (Lou) Santini; one son, Cory Van Tol; nine grandchildren, Nathan (Korey) Duisterhof, Colin (Alli Rinehart) Duisterhof, Brooke Marie Van Tol, Conley Kakabeeke, Analisha Santini, Emily (Daniel) Ferris, Josie (Phillip) Moorlag, Annetta Marshall and Kylie Brown; five great grandchildren, Aliyah, Grant, Blake, Bella and Summer; three brothers, Joe Van Tol, Ken Van Tol and Audley (Linda) Van Tol. Con was preceded in death by his brother, Leo Van Tol and his sister, Kitty Joy Kooima.
