Colleen Jean Greene, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving son's and their families, at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence at the age of 61.
She was born February 14, 1961 in Paw Paw, the daughter of the late Richard Hammel and Joann (McCann) Hammel.
Colleen loved her kids, she would always tell people how proud she was of the kids and what they had accomplished in life. She loved being a grandma and spoiling her grandkids. Colleen was a strong woman and was not afraid of anyone or anything. Anyone that knew Colleen would agree she was a fierce Mama Bear.
Colleen had a way of taking things and making them into works of art. She loved to capture the precious moments in her life through her photography. When she was younger, she spent time working with her horses with the help of her dad and friends. She loved being involved in 4-H and watching her children in 4-H. Another passion Colleen enjoyed was spending her time baking and cooking for family and friends. She had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Greene, four sons, Phillip Greene, Jr., Zack (Lexi) Greene, Andrew (Michelle) Greene and Ben Greene; one daughter, Amanda (Todd) Lewis; five grandchildren, Bryson Greene, Faith Biron, Saddie Greene, Poppy Lewis and Demetri Greene; sister, Mary Ellen (Mike) Vette; two brothers, Doug (Immie) Hammel and David Hammel.
Colleen was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Greene.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial gathering held at a later date.
