Clinton Herbert Buskirk, age 93, of Lawrence, passed away at home with his family Saturday, May 6, 2017. He was born in St. Joseph on October 9, 1923 to Frank and Eunice Buskirk. He leaves three grandchildren, Carol Lietzau, Vickie (Brian) Lietzau and Jean Tate, great grandchildren, LeAnna Thomas, Ashley Lietzau, Carson (Mariah) Lietzau, Derek (Amelia) Lietzau, Branden Lietzau, Nathan Rife, Kristina (Matt) Tunstill, Joshua Thompson, Nicole (Donnie) Shakes and Michael (Sheree) Dale, along with nine great grandchildren. Clinton was preceded in death by his wife Nora, daughter Iva, infant son Clinton Herbert Buskirk, Jr. and grandson Robert Dale. Clinton served his country in the Army during WWII, he was a longtime volunteer Firefighter for the Lawrence Fire Department, where he served as Chief for many years. In his spare time, Clinton enjoyed fishing and camping. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. A luncheon will follow at the Lawrence American Legion.
