Charlotte Joan (Cross) Benson

Charlotte Joan Benson, 75, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Ocala, FL.

She was born August 7, 1945 in Moulton, Alabama, the daughter of Gordon Cross and Polly (Goodwin) Cross.

Joan loved spending time with her family and her friends. She was a homebody and enjoyed working around her home. She was a longtime member of 12th Street Baptist Church and previously taught Sunday School at Flower Field Baptist Church.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Karl Benson in 2015 and her father Gordon Cross in 2015.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Janice) Benson; two daughters, Rachelle (Dave) Benson and Shawna (Matt) Scribben; eight grandchildren, John Jay, Daniel (Jennifer), Olivia, Derek, Jessica, Damien, Bjorn and Aidan; sister, Patricia (late Charles) McLean; brother, Scotty (late Sandra) Cross along with four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 beginning at 11:00 am at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm with Donnie Lewis officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
