Celesta "Bobbi" Mae (Streeter - Sziede) Packer

Age: 80 PACKER, Celesta Mae “Bobbi” nee Mohney (Streeter - Sziede) Lawton. Bobbi passed away Saturday evening, March 8, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. She was born August 19, 1933 on the family farm in Porter Township, MI the daughter of the late Harley and Mary (Marshall) Mohney. As a child Bobbi enjoyed her growing years in the 4-H Club. After her marriage to Bill Streeter she was a farmer’s wife who worked raising her children and helping with grapes and cherries. After the passing of Bill she was united in marriage to Arden Sziede and work as a housewife until his death. In October of 2008 in Lawton, Bobbi was united in marriage to Robert R. Packer who survives. She then lived a distinctly different lifestyle entertaining friends and traveling, recently on a boat trip from Budapest to Amsterdam and a cruise to the Caribbean on the Disney Cruise lines. Also surviving are 2 sons, Clark Streeter of Kalamazoo and Clyde (Jenny) Streeter of Lawton, a daughter, Cindy (Fred) Welburn of Lawton, Bob’s children, Steve (Cathy) Packer and Sandy Packer-Armstrong both of Lawton; grandson, Harley Streeter; great grandchildren, Charli and Wyatt Streeter; 3 sisters, Grace Mohney of Lawton, Dorothy Howard of Kalamazoo, and Tommi Snyder of Decatur; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Streeter, Arden Sziede, granddaughter, Shenley Streeter and a brother, Marshall Mohney. Bobbi was an active member of the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restoration Club, Marcellus V.F.W. Auxiliary, Grape Country Model “A” Club in Lawton, and a member of the National Grape Co-op. Bobbi was an extremely happy person enjoying life with smiles, singing to herself and positive feelings. She was a very loyal person and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and horseback riding. Bobbi spent her life enriching the lives of her husbands, children, grandchildren and friends. Family will receive friends Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Lawton Mennonite Church where services will be held following visitation at 12 noon with Rev. Ron Packer officiating. Interment will be in Chamberlain Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo, and Hospice of Southwest Michigan or the Mayo Clinic.
