Cass passed away Saturday morning, April 30, 2011 at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Detroit to the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Kubinski), the 2nd of 6 children. He was raised with a strong faith in God and the importance of family. He met Mary Blanche Hund and fell in love and they were married on August 26, 1961 in Detroit. Together they raise a daughter, Jeanne Marie. Also surviving are 5 siblings, Irvin Pyonk of Apopka, FL, Rose Zakrzewski of Taylor, MI, Leo Pyonk of Madison Heights, MI, Cammy Krist of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Jerome Pyonk of Davidson, MI; several nieces and nephews. After school Cass served in the U.S. Army. He was a manager of Telecommunications for Dayton-Hudson Corp until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Paw Paw and during his retirement loved to do woodworking. Family will receive friends this evening, 5-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. They will also receive friends Monday (5/2) 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church until the Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier Celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church or St. Mary's School.
