Carolyn Sue Gibson, 69, of Marcellus, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1955, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Millard "Bud" Aukerman and Betty Lou (Powers) Arbanas.
Family was the highlight of Carolyn's life. She loved time with her children and grandchildren. They looked forward to stopping at yard sales and thrift stores in their travels. She and Scott had a love for motorcycles. They enjoyed traveling the country. She was also passionate about horses and cats. For over 31 years, Carolyn ran her own upholstery business in Marcellus called Pioneer Upholstery.
She is survived by her three daughters, Tamarha (Dan) Ellison, Jessica (Lance) Goodrode, Casey (Cooter) Jenkins; her son, Jason Gibson and her longtime partner and soul mate, Scott Huff. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Christopher Ellison, Logan Ellison, Curtis Stanley, Kyle Stanley, Alicia DeBest, Emilyrose Goodrode and Peyton Gibson; two great-grandchildren, Alaina DeBest and Elijah DeBest; and two brothers, Dick (Carol) Aukerman and Millard "Guy" Aukerman.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Aukerman.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Wilson officiating. Burial will conclude at Bly Cemetery, Marcellus. Everyone is invited to a luncheon following the graveside service at the Marcellus VFW, 53550 M-40 Highway, Marcellus.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
