Carol-Lu Frances (Schelsky) Specht

Carol-Lu Frances Specht, 84, of Lawton, passed away Sunday March 27, 2022 at the Rose Arbor hospice residence in Kalamazoo.

She was born August 31, 1937 in Evanston, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Lucille Schelsky.

Carol enjoyed operating her own hair salon from her home for many years. While she was in beauty school, she was recruited to also become an instructor following her certification. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking for her family members.

She is survived by her two granddaughters, Niki Dekoning and Heidi Merchant; her former husband, Norman Specht; and five great-grandchildren, Jared Dekoning, Carter Dekoning, Raelyn Merchant, Brooklyne Merchant and Skyler Cruz.

Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheryl Waldo on April 1, 2014.

Family and friends will visit at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Thursday March 31, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Wayne McKenny officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton.
