Carl E. Wright, age 89, of Paw Paw passed away April 19, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rosemary (Notestine), three children, Steven (Marcia) Wright, Debra (Late Rick L.) Zache and Cristine (David) Martin, ten grandchildren, Mandy (Nate) Johnson,David Walker, Misty Wright, Mikki (Michael) Spagnoli, Chip (Kassandra McCorkhill) Wright, Robert (Leslie) Zache, Amie (Andy) Petrie, Kelli Zache, Kendra Zache, Rachel Martin and David (Katie) Martin, 16 great grandchildren and three sisters, Grace Crum, Gertrude Joan (Bud) Miller and Julia (Hal) Teuscher along with countless loving nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vernon and Daisy (Roberts) Wright and six siblings, Ethel Waters, Raymond “Red” Wright, Mildred Krepel, William Wright, James Lewis “Lewie” Wright, Gladys McClain and Lawrence “Larry” Wright. Carl was born April 10, 1928 in Three Rivers. He retired after 25 years of service from the Michigan State Highway Department, Paw Paw, as foreman. For many years he coached the St. Julian Women’s softball team as well as teaching line dancing with Rosemary. Carl was a 1946 graduate of Constantine High School. In 2004 he was elected into the Constantine All Sports Hall of Fame and in 2011 he was elected into the Constantine Basketball Hall of Fame. For many years Carl and Rosie hosted family reunions at their home on the “LIL-POND-A-ROSIE” which he named after his wife Rosemary. Carl was an avid card player and an all-around outdoorsman. He enjoyed a game of Euchre, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed helping kids as much as he could with anything possible. Above all, Carl was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, April 24, 2017 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a funeral service will commence at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
