Brigita Watson, 76, of Mattawan, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo.
She was born March 31, 1945 in Germany, the daughter of Arnolds and Genoveva Ozols.
Bridget, as many knew her, emigrated to this country in 1950 with her mother, young brother and grandmother. Being displaced as many were at that time from their home country of Latvia. The family made a life together in Kalamazoo, where she later met her beloved husband of over 55 years, Charles Amon Watson.
Bridget was a fun loving spirit with a deep faith in Jesus. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but especially enjoyed her many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Imants and her husband, Charles Watson.
Bridget is survived by her son Charles (Holly) Watson; her daughter Makrina (Kevin) Conklin; nine grandchildren, Alysia (AJ) Boehm, Aleah Watson, Darren Watson, Adrianna Watson, Derek Watson, Cameron Serba, Jordan Serba, Brianna Conklin, Amanda Conklin; Two great grandchildren, Theodore and Waylon Boehm.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Decatur VFW, 560 N. Phelps Street.
