Bonnie Jean (Smith) King

September 23, 1945 — September 22, 2016

Bonnie Jean King, age 71, of Schoolcraft, formerly of Mattawan and Paw Paw, passed away September 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born September 23, 1945 in Battle Creek to the late Albert Smith and Edna Collins. Bonnie is survived by her three children; Debra King, Terri (Terron) McLean and David King, one sister, Paula Bucknell and three grandchildren; Justin and Katelyn McLean and Kylie King. Bonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Smith, Brother, Raymond Bucknell and her step father, Owen Bucknell. Bonnie was dedicated and hardworking. As a single mother, she raised her three children while working full time. Bonnie was very caring and considerate of those around her. She always made sure people had something to eat and would help in any way she was able. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 W, Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Thaddeus Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kalamazoo Area Humane Society in Bonnie’s memory.
