Billiann Bonter, age 71, of Paw Paw, passed away Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after a brief illness. She was born July20, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of the late George and Anna (Collins) Mitchell. Billie obtained a dental hygienist degree at Indiana University. She moved to Paw Paw in 1970 and was employed by the Paw Paw Public Schools as director of the Learning Tree Annex, the before and after school care program. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Mackinac Island, and the cabin in Hulbert, MI, shopping, and crafting. She was a Girl Scout Leader, loved Christmas and collected Santas. On September 22, 1973 in Paw Paw Billie was united in marriage to John C. Bonter who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jami Williams of Plainwell and Marie (Paul) van der Feyst of Paw Paw; four grandchildren, Holli and Luke Williams and Anna and Lauren van der Feyst; father-in-law, Clarence Bonter of Paw Paw. Family will receive friends Monday (March 20) 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. with Rev. Chuck Rawsthorne of Faith Baptist Church, Mattawan officiating. Interment will follow in Almena Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to John Herron School of Art and Design, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Campus.
