Bernice passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 5, 2013 at the home of her grandson. She was born November 15, 1919 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Guy and Pearl (Snyder) Burns. She attended college and received her Nursing Degree and was employed at Lakeview Community Hospital, Paw Paw, MI and Charlotte County Hospital in Punta Gorda, FL, until her retirement in 1980. Bernice was united in marriage to Joseph H. Rauker on April 11, 1936, who preceded her in death in 1978. In November of 1982, Bernice was united in marriage to Michael Sabino, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Walter and Harold Rauker; daughter, Anna Thomson, and granddaughter, Julia Kay Rauker. Surviving are a sister, Opal Stoutmeyer of Texas; daughter-in-law, Beverly Rauker of Lawton, MI; three grandsons, Fred (Renae) Rauker of Lawton, MI, Randy Lewis of El Cajon, CA and Ross Lewis of Anaheim, CA; three great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, and two great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday (1/12), 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Rev. Roger Andrews officiating. Interment of cremains in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or The Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Avenue
