Annet passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at her home. She was born November 3, 1955 in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of Marion and Eunice (Pickering) Towne. Annet was a member of the Lawton Evangelical Mennonite Church where she was part of the puppet ministry "Puppets with a Purpose." She enjoyed crafts, sewing doll clothes, cake and event decorating with her business, Something Borrowed. Prior to her recent business, Annet was a beautician and owned her own shop, Making Headlines. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
On August 21, 1976 in Pittsford, MI, Annet was united in marriage to Steven R. Shannon, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Brandon (Erin) Shannon of Paw Paw and Ryan (Emily) Shannon of Burlington, KY; a special niece and her husband, Angie and Ron Barthel of Sandy Hook, CT; five grandchildren, Cade Shipley, Chloe and Carter Shannon and Rhys and Sebastian Barthel; three sisters, Paulet Towne of Lansing, Jeanet Towne of St. Charles, MO and Lynnet (Richard) Brooks of Lawton. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Collin.
Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Services for Annet will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lawton Evangelical Mennonite Church, 425 S. Nursery St., Lawton. Interment will take place 3 p.m. Sunday at Lickley's Corners Cemetery, Pittsford, MI. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Children's Ministry at Lawton EMC.
