In Cicero, IL. on Feb. 24, 1920 Anne Stanton was one of ten children born to Stefan and Antonia Minarik. Her parents had settled there after arriving on Ellis Island from Czechoslovakia. As their family grew they turned from city life to farming in Paw Paw, MI when Anne was a year old. After high school Anne worked in Chicago for Montgomery Wards in accounting. Then returned to Michigan where she was a dental assistant to Dr. Markovich. During the Grape and Wine Festival she met Kenneth Stanton and they were married September 4, 1948. Ken preceded her in death on July 8, 1994. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Margaret Wojciechowski and Antoinette Rice; 4 brothers, Stephen, Joseph, Andrew and John Minarik. For 30 years they farmed in rural Paw Paw and Anne was a 4-H leader. They raised 3 daughters, Carol Brigham (Greg) Charlotte, NC, Victoria Meyer (Carl) Toledo, OH and Antoinette Stanton Paw Paw, MI; 9 grandchildren, Duane Brigham of Lawton, Diana Brigham of Lawton, Stephanie Westerfield of Lansing, MI, Angela Eichenlaub of Concord, NC, Kindra Taplin of Concord, NC, Kelly LaFave of Orlando, FL, Westley Evans of Fenton, MI, Rebecca Wolff of Eau Claire, MI, and Rachel Stambek of Kalamazoo, MI; 15 great grandchildren. She was a lifelong active member of St. Mary's Church, Paw Paw, MI where she was a member of the Altar Society, the Mission Group, Prayer Group, Charismatic Group, Baptism Preparation Instructor, Religious Education Teacher and Sacristan. Besides her children and grandchildren she leaves 3 living sisters, Mildred Javor of Bellevue MI, Alice Stieber of Kalamazoo MI, Josephine Minarik of Paw Paw MI; many nieves and nephews. She Nurtured her family and was always willing to give support and a listening ear. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and was devoted to God, Church, and her family. Family will receive friends Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
