Ann passed away Tuesday morning, June 7, 2011 at her home. She was born February 16, 1936 in the family home Porter Township, MI the daughter of the late Donovan and Gladys (Amster) Hazelton. She was a graduate of Lawton High School and received her nursing degree at Elkhart University. She was a nurse for Dr. Parks and later worked at Upjohn Company in Portage until her retirement in 1987. She was very active and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, flower and vegetable gardening, traveling, Model "A" cars for which she was a member of the Grape Country Model "A" Club. Her greatest passion was being with and doing things for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On April 16, 1965 in Lawton, Ann was united in marriage to Melford F. West who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, James Ramsey and Timothy (Dana) Ramsey both of Lawton; daughter, Lucy (Don) Miller of Paw Paw; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Hazelton of Lawton; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Jay Hazelton in 2006. Family will receive friends Thursday (6/9) 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Packer officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Relay for Life.
