Allen passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Bronson Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. Allen was born August 31, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Edward and Emily Werk. He was employed with Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company for over 40 years before retiring in 1984. Allen enjoyed woodworking and was extremely active with any and all activities at the Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a member for over 25 years. On June 20, 1954, Allen married his loving wife, Rose Mary (Picchiottino), who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Warren (Kelly) Werk and Allen (Ann) Werk; grandchildren, Philip, Samuel and Katelyn Werk; sister, Elsbeth (Bill) Picchiottino. Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Werk and a sister, Ruth Erdmann. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, (10/25) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (10/26) at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw with Pastor Ronald Moritz officiating. Interment will follow at the Hoppin Cemetery, Arlington Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Trinity Lutheran School.
