passed away at home on Monday, December 26, 2011. Allen was born June 19, 1931 in Hinsdale, IL, the son of the late Alfred and Florence (Carlson) Vornsand. Allen was a world traveler who took a particular interest in Latin culture and gourmet cooking. He was a true wine connoisseur and had a passion for botany. On June 24, 1960 Allen was united in marriage to Kathryn Kofoed, who preceded him in death in 2008. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters. Allen is survived by 3 sons, Steven (Dory) Vornsand, William (Jill) Vornsand and James (Jill) Vornsand; 6 grandchildren; sister, Florence Vornsand and brother, William Vornsand. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Paw Paw.
